Your Tasks
As the Managing Director, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the organization and leading its operational and strategic efforts. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the ESSB e.V. Executive Board: Providing regular reports on ongoing projects, the financial situation, and significant events.
- Day-to-day Operations: Organizing and ensuring the smooth running of the society’s activities
- Budgeting and Accounting: Organizing all financial transactions (e.g., via DATEV) and close interactions with our tax attorneys.
- Member Acquisition and Administration: Engaging with current and potential members, providing support, and managing memberships.
- Event Support: Assisting with the organization of the annual conference, working group meetings, and other events.
- External Communications: Engaging with external partners, funding agencies, authorities, and service providers, and communicating with members through newsletters, the website, and social media.
- Industry Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with industry sponsors.
- Strategy: Promoting the growth of the society through strategic marketing and positioning.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual with a passion for spatial biology. The ideal candidate will have:
- Ideally a degree in life sciences or a related field.
- Previous experience in accounting (including DATEV).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in English and German
