active Data Standardization (IOFAST)

The initiative for FAIR spatial data (IO-FAST) is a community-led charitable organisation. IO-FAST was initiated in 2025 and launched at the first ESSB conference in Berlin with the aim to democratize spatial omics data via a community effort. The main focus of the group so far are metadata standards, annotations and data sharing problems. We organize workshops and hackathons to work on concepts and tools supporting FAIR data. If you are interesed to join, have a use case or ideas for workshops, feel free to sign up to our zulip channel or drop us an email. We also encourage commerical solution providers to work with us and align on metadata standards.
